S&P Dow Jones Indices Announces Changes to the S&P/TSX Composite Index

TORONTO, Sept. 1, 2026
TORONTO, Sept. 1, 2026 /CNW/ -- The shareholders of GFL Environmental (TSX: GFL) (NYSE: GFL) and SECURE Waste Infrastructure (TSX: SES) have agreed to the terms of a Plan of Arrangement resulting in the combination of the two companies. Each share of SECURE Waste Infrastructure will be exchanged for a combination of $4.95 in cash and 0.3356 of a GFL subordinate voting share. SECURE Waste Infrastructure will be removed from the S&P/TSX Composite Index prior to the open of trading on September 4, 2026. The shares outstanding of GFL Environmental will be increased to 422,532,512 with an increased IWF of 0.78 at the same time to reflect the Combination Consideration Election.
For index calculation purposes if SES is suspended from trading on TSX before the removal date, SPDJI will derive the closing price of SES as follows: GFL closing price * 0.3356 merger ratio plus C$4.95 cash.
